Storm over Duart Castle – Isle of Mull

Duart Castle stands proudly on the south east corner of the Isle of Mull looking rather sombre, and in someways threatening in such dramatic lighting.

Duart Castle is the 13th Century ancestral home of the Clan MacLean, it has commanding and spectacular views across the Sound of Mull, Loch Linnhe and the Firth of Lorne to the mountainous landscape of mainland Scotland to the north and east.

To create this moody image of Duart Castle I have purposely underexposed it by one stop to add drama to the sky, turn the castle to a silhouette which in then creates an image full of mood with a threatening feel to the scene.
