Shooting a series of impressions of nature images required breaking away from the constrains of the technical requirements normally associated with nature photography.
It is an opportunity to be free and to experiment, here there is little concern for sharpness, maximum depth of field and fast shutter speed. Just think of nature subjects purely as abstract art, be creative and approach the task with an open mind and childlike curiosity.
To produce the images below I used a variety of techniques from hand held camera with slow shutter speed to intentionally knocking a tripod mounting camera during exposure. More often than not the results are unpredictable so experimentation is a key element.
So rather than strive for perfection in nature photography occasionally take the opportunity to relax, let go, enjoy and have fun.

these look more like they were done in oils! well done

Those are some really beautiful colors Phil I will admit. I’m not really big into art but I appreciate it. I have no doubt that a lot of what you share is magnificent.
Thanks for explaining this. Really pretty!

Thank you Adrienne for your kind comments, they are much appreciated. I accept that they may not be to everyone’s liking as art is such an emotive subject, for me it is one of the fascinations of life that we all see things so differently.
