Sunny days and photography go hand in hand, right! Well, not always, it really depends on the subject matter, but there is no reason to wait for sunny weather when you can embrace the drama and excitement of bad weather photography.

Bad weather photography – Lismore Lighthouse, Scotland
Though some photographers might dislike the thought of being out with their camera in bad weather, dull days certainly offer plenty of photo options.
So why not try some bad weather photography
Whilst finding suitable bad weather opportunities may need a little extra thought and effort the pictures are there for the taking even on the dullest of days.
I find that there is a certain beauty in these stormy skies, and the heavy drama of a storm can really add an imposing air to bad weather photography compositions.

Hey Phil,
I also has clicked some pictures which shows the amazing clouds. Your Pictures here are awesome. Bad whether treats as a sunshine when the effort can be put up on the frames.

Those shot are very powerful. They have drama and mystic. Having blue skies with fluffy clouds on these pictures would just be nice, but much less of a story for each picture.

Great points and images to illustrate Phil! It’s so true that bad weather is often a landscape photographer’s best friend. A clearing storm can provide some of the most spectacular light and drama!

I love how when you convert photos to black and white the clouds appear to have far more richness and depth to them – even if it’s only overcast it still looks very ominous and dramatic.
