Mull sunsets can be spectacular especially when all the required conditions come together. Be it winter or summer there are plenty of locations from which to take full advantage of the opportunities to photograph Isle of Mull sunsets.
Here are just a few examples of Mull sunsets from the last year that I remember with fondness, not just because of the final image but because of the moment. Some I took when it seemed like I had the whole island to myself, the feeling of isolation and being at one with nature makes the experience very memorable. Other sunsets I photographed whilst enjoying the company of other like minded photographers on one of our Isle of Mull Photography Workshops.

“If I can put one touch of rosy sunset into the life of any man or woman, I shall feel that I have worked with God.” – G K Chesterton
Sunsets evoke a good feeling, the beauty is inspiring and although it is the end of the day a good sunset can make the day a memorable one. If you agree that this is the case it would be good to hear your experiences of sunset and why it meant so much.
Why Photography is important!
Photography is about the moments, those precious moments when the decision is made to finally press the shutter. Over many years of photography I have amassed and indexed more than 150000 images, some on negative film, some on slide film and of course some digital files. However, when you think of the actual total amount of time captured it is very small indeed.
Lets say for example that every image I have taken had a shutter speed of 1/30th second, then those 150000 images would equate to less than 90 minutes of actual captured time. So it is very important therefore that the moment of pressing the shutter truly records not only what you saw but what you experienced emotionally.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these Isle of Mull sunsets as much as I enjoyed the time spent photographing them.

Wonderful pictures! I am familiar with all these places. grew up there. The snow by the shore’s a first though! Where’s the Gulf Stream when you need it?
Thank you Richard for your kind comments, much appreciated.
Stunning pictures! One thing I remember about my holiday in Scotland (besides the midges) was the amount of sky there was and the stunning vista’s. You have captured some fantastic shots.
Lovely work.
Thank you Steve for taking the time to visit and for adding your kind words, much appreciated.
